In consideration of the needs of the community and the resources available in Downtown Los Angeles, FUNSCAPE incorporates an adaptive reuse approach. The concept is Intended to create and promote social interaction and have a place where people can “escape” and play. Pushing people to step out of their comfort zones, alternative circulations are designed to encourage fun activities and movement. Breaking away from the stress of everyday life, this space allows for equal amounts of work and play. Outside of the residential areas of the building, unique and unforgettable interactions are integrated into the building. Playful pathways reminiscent of childhood are implemented to remind people that life requires a balance of fun and work.
