The single- family residential house in Santa Monica had the task of designing the landscape around it. The goal was to satisfy the hypothetical family’s requests of having a space where their kids could have fun and explore, while adults can relax and host people. The family also wanted an environmentally sustainable design that introduced at least 70% native and water cautious planting to create a biodiverse environment while promoting wildlife such as butterflies, birds, and insects that were essential for the children.
